A Marvelous Order this Spring

A Marvelous Order this Spring

We’re excited to bring some excerpts of A MARVELOUS ORDER, the opera about Jane Jacobs and Robert Moses, to a very special performance in lower Manhattan this June. We’ll also be talking about the opera in a couple of weeks, so please join us for these events — with more to be announced soon!

The Williams and Princeton Clubs of New York – Wed, May 3 @ 6:30pm-8pm

These two clubs are jointly hosting a program about our creative process. Director/Animator Joshua Frankel and I will screen excerpts from our work-in-progress performance in Williamstown last spring, followed by a conversation moderated by Andy Hamingson, the President of the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council. This is an opportunity to see what we’ve done and hear where we’re going with the project. A limited number of tickets are available here for people who are not members, while members of either club can register for free here.

River To River Festival – June 15, 17 and 18 @ 7pm

A 25 minute excerpt of the opera will be presented live, in a site-specific adaptation for the Fulton Center, a new transit hub of the MTA. We’ll utilize the wrap-around LED screens to present the opera’s animations while live performers sing and play instruments in the midst of commuters and tourists and everyone else. It should be pretty wild and is a perfect way to present our work about New Yorkers and infrastructure! This event is free. Check out the notice in the Times, and mark your calendars!

We’ll have more to announce soon, but in the meantime, we’ll hope to see you this May and June!
